
Dr Pyke
Head of College
Dr Pyke held the post of Deputy Master (External) of Dulwich College from 2015 until 2024 and led the College’s international and domestic educational partnerships. He is also Vice-Chair of the UK multi-academy trust E-ACT and serves as a governor of Worth School.
Dr Pyke was also previously Head of Upper School at Dulwich College for eleven years and has taught History at the College since 1998. He began his educational career in 1993 at Lancing College in Sussex, teaching History and Classics, and gaining valuable experience as a boarding house tutor.
Dr Pyke read History at Sidney Sussex College, Cambridge, and studied for his PhD in Russian Music Studies at Goldsmiths University of London as a mature student. His book, Benjamin Britten and Russia, was published in the summer of 2016 and was reviewed on BBC Radio Three. He is currently writing about Korean history.
Dr Pyke is also a passionate advocate of the history and culture of East Asia. He loves music, sings in the choir of the Norwegian church in London, and also enjoys walking and swimming.
