Tim Parkes
Senior School Teacher of Mathematics
Mr Parkes is from Rotherham, a small town in the north of England, made famous for its steel production, but overshadowed by its very close neighbor, the city of Sheffield. He studied Aeronautical Engineering at Salford University and spent 6 years in production management for three prestigious companies, Quaker Oats, Courage Brewing and Caradon Rolinx. He taught English in Greece and decided to get into full-time teaching. He spent 3 years in the UK honing his skills in the classroom then ventured abroad to explore this vast and diverse world in which he is privileged to live. He has worked in Qatar, Jordan, Thailand and now China. He found himself very lucky to have had the chance to travel and explore a wide variety of cultures. On his journey, he has indulged in his passion for The Great Outdoors and spent many years encouraging students to get out and enjoy the world around them, through programs such as the International Award.
