Dulwich College Beijing (DCB) is proud to commend the Class of 2021 for their stunning International Baccalaureate Diploma Programme (IB) results! This year, DCB students averaged an exceptional score of 39.4 points out of 45, significantly above the global average of 33. 53% of the students scored 40 points and above, including 11 students achieving a nearly perfect score of 44 and 9 achieving a full score of 45 points. An outstanding and unique accomplishment indeed!
Out of the eighty-one students of Class of 2021, eighty students attempted and received the full IB Diploma, representing a 100% pass rate, earning them the internationally recognised and respected high school certification and access to the world’s most prestigious universities.
The Class of 2021 have received offers from renowned programmes and universities around the world, including Claremont McKenna College, Columbia University, Dartmouth College, Johns Hopkins University, University of California Berkeley, and Swarthmore College in the United States of America; Imperial College London, the University of Edinburgh, University College London, University of Cambridge, and University of Oxford in the United Kingdom; University of British Columbia, University of Toronto, and Waterloo University in Canada; Hong Kong University, Korea Advanced Institute of Science and Technology, Seoul National University, Tsinghua University in Asia, as well as speciality schools such as Art Center College of Design, Berklee College of Music, Ecole hôtelière de Lausanne, University of the Arts London, and Rhode Island School of Design. Matriculation destinations will be finalised in the fall to account for the application seasons of South Korea and New Zealand. We are also proud of our graduates who have decided on a gap year of work and service instead of directly pursuing higher education.
These exceptional results are a testament to the students’ hard work, maturity and impressive resilience as they navigated the demanding two-years IB course in unprecedented pandemic conditions.
“In a year of disruption, our Class of 2021 students showed outstanding perseverance, resilience, and dedication, and we are proud of their passionate and focused approach to their learning and extra-curricular activities. We are delighted to see such a stellar set of IB results,” said Anthony Coles, Head of College of Dulwich College Beijing. “Not only do they reflect our students’ commitment to their learning journey, but they also result from the collective efforts of the whole faculty including the Senior School teachers, university counsellors and the pastoral team. They worked with our parents in unison to enable the young people to flourish.”
“We are absolutely delighted for each and every one of our class of 2021. They have proven themselves to be first-class in every sense, navigating their IB years through COVID-19. But of equal importance, they are also fantastic, unique individuals who have also supported each other brilliantly, they have inspired their younger peers and leave as fine DCB role models,” said Rachel Edwards, Head of Senior School of Dulwich College Beijing. “Our IB team, our Year 13 tutors and teachers, counsellors and indeed our entire staff are passionate and committed professionals, they celebrate these superb results too. My sincere thanks to all staff and leaders, past and present who have contributed to their journey. Congratulations parents, families and friends of the Class of 2021.
