Last month, DCB welcomed award-winning British author Jonathan Meres of the bestselling World of Norm series. He met with students in DUCKS, Junior School and Key Stage 3, bringing his characters to life through his actions and reactions while enhancing literacy skills and promoting creativity in our students.

Having previously worked in the navy and done stand-up comedy and acting, Mr Meres has now turned his hand to writing children’s literature that caters to different age groups. He has written over 30 books, with his bestselling and award-winning The World of Norm translated into nearly 20 languages worldwide and selling almost one million copies in the UK alone.

Jonathan's infectious wit and humour kept the students engaged and inspired throughout his sessions, leaving our students with a valuable lesson – that it’s important to embrace humour and silliness sometimes. Thank you, Mr Meres, for promoting a long-lasting connection with the shared love for reading and to Ms Greenwell, our Senior School Head of Libraries, and the rest of our teachers for making these sessions possible!
