Three DCB Students Shortlisted for Prestigious Writing Award

Damien L, Ariel W and Yoko L win Hong Kong Young Writers Award

DCB is exceptionally proud that three of our Junior School students have been shortlisted for the Hong Kong Young Writers Award. Well done to Year 3 student Damien L and Year 6 students Ariel W and Yoko L! This award is a prestigious annual competition that provides a fantastic opportunity for aspiring writers aged 6 to 18 to showcase their talents and creativity. Last block, Ms Malik and Mr Alford had run writing workshops as an extra-curricular activity.

This year, the theme is New Tales of the Ming Treasure Voyages. One winner will be chosen in each of the groups, and one lucky student will be named The Hong Kong Young Writer of 2019. In 2018, there were over 1,000 entries from approximately 200 schools across Hong Kong, Macau and China. The three students have been invited to the prize ceremony in Hong Kong in March and the anthology launch of their writing. We wish them the best of luck!
