Darren gained a PGCE in Secondary Education at Canterbury Christ Church University after completing a BA (Hons) in English at the University of Wales, Lampeter. Following five years of teaching English in the UK, he travelled in Southeast Asia and Australia and taught English in Sydney, Perth and Bangkok after gaining his CELTA qualification. Darren then taught in an international school in Taiwan and in a boarding school in the UK, holding a variety of positions, including Head of Year, Resident House Tutor, Head of English and IB Diploma Coordinator. Having lived and travelled extensively in Asia, Darren has a keen interest in world literature. This interest led him to pursue an MA in Comparative Literature at the School of Oriental and African Studies at the University of London. He is excited to be back in Asia.
