Joanne Merritt
Head of Psychology
Jo Merritt is originally from West Yorkshire, UK. After completing her BSc (Hons) Psychology and PGCE, she worked as a lead teacher of psychology and social sciences in the UK, where she gained post-graduate qualifications in innovation in education. She has lived in China since 2014, working as a Head of Psychology & Epistemology in another international school in Beijing and as Director of Studies in a research consultancy, where she also completed a Professional Development Qualification in Educational Leadership with Cambridge. Ms Merritt is currently researching the benefits of animal-assisted education as part of an Anthrozoology programme with the University of Exeter. In her spare time, she volunteers with a local animal rescue charity, enjoys painting and teaching self-defence and martial arts.
