Andrew Carey
Senior School Teacher of History and Humanities
Andrew Carey hails from Guernsey in the Channel Islands. He pursued his passion for history by studying Ancient History at Cardiff University and later, Modern History at University College London (UCL). His first experience living in China was in 2010, after which he returned to the UK to study for a PGCE from Sussex University. He has an extensive teaching background, having taught History and Politics in East Sussex and both History and Ancient History at an HMC school in Guernsey, where he also took on roles as the Careers Coordinator and Community Service leader. More recently, he served as the Head of History at an international school in Beijing, and he currently enjoys the dual challenge of teaching History and Global Politics at DCB.
In his leisure time, Mr Carey enjoys playing guitar, delving into Chinese history, skiing, and spending time with his family.
