Emma Penrose
Teacher of EAL
Prior to Dulwich College Beijing, Emma Penrose was an English as an Additional Language Coordinator at Marlborough College, an independent boarding school in England, for eleven years. Ms Penrose' experience ranges from primary and secondary school age, preparing pupils for Cambridge exams, IGCSE English as a Second Language and IELTS to teaching English for Academic Purposes to undergraduates.
Originally from Wales, Ms Penrose moved to Canterbury and graduated from the University of Kent with an honours degree in English and American Literature. After graduating, she taught English in the historic city of Santiago de Compostela, Spain for many years before returning the UK. She completed her Postgraduate Certificate in Education in ESOL and Literacy at the University of Greenwich. She has a master’s degree in Teaching English as a Foreign Language. She is an avid reader and enjoys creative writing, making stained glass, landscape photography and hiking.
