Michael Havener
Teacher of English
Michael Havener is a 10-year teacher from the Sunshine State, USA. After graduating from the University of Central Florida with a degree in English language arts education, he went on to pursue a master’s degree in Curriculum and Instruction at the University of Tampa. He has experience as an English teacher in the AP, IBDP, A-Level and IGCSE programs. He has also served in various other educational roles including department head, college essay coordinator, and curriculum consultant. He enjoys spicy food, books that makes him happy, and songs that makes him sad. His instructional philosophy boils down to a pair of questions by J.D. Salinger: “Were most of your stars out? Were you busy writing your heart out?”
