Richard Cairns
Senior School Head of Science
Richard Cairns started his teaching career 16 years ago, after working initially in the industry as a research scientist. He has worked in several schools in the UK, China and Thailand as a science teacher, before moving into middle management as a Head of Science.
He obtained his Batchelors' degree and Qualified Teachers Status (QTS) in the UK before moving overseas and has since completed his MA in Education from the Open University, UK.
He feels privileged to lead the DCB Science team, to deliver the best possible curriculum and pedagogy that enables our learners to achieve so highly. In his spare time, he enjoyed cycling, hiking and camping. He found Beijing a great place to pursue these hobbies with its diverse history, climate and topography.
