Samantha Welford
PE Teacher
Ms Welford is an experienced PE and Dance teacher from East Sussex, England. She studied at the University of Brighton, Chelsea College where she achieved a BA (Hons) PE teaching degree with QTS. Following a seven year tenure in Secondary Physical Education (PE) within the UK , during which she served as Head of Girls PE, led GCSE PE examinations, facilitated Sports Leaders UK level 1 and 2 programs, and assumed the role of School Sports Co-Ordinator, she decided to venture out into International teaching and came to Beijing. Since moving to Beijing, she initially served as Head of Primary PE at her former school. Presently, she juggles roles as a PE Teacher and Head of Year at DCB, and has successfully completed her NPQ in leading Behaviour and Culture.
She took part in a wide range of sports growing up. Her main areas of focus were Dance, Netball and Trampolining. Her dancing career led to her interest in international teaching starting through the FIDGET dance company and travelling around British and International schools, teaching and performing. She enjoys being with friends, family and exploring new places.
