Assistant Head Teacher (Student Support Services)
Sean comes from the historic city of Chester in Northern England, and he graduated from the city’s university with a degree in French in 2010. Sean then completed a PGCE in Secondary Modern Foreign Languages at The University of York, UK in 2011, and taught Languages for two years in UK State Schools. He quickly realised his passion lay in the primary setting and he became a transition coordinator to assist children and their families alongside Parent Support Advisors. He completed several residential courses in Child Bereavement and Counselling Support during his time at this school. In 2013, Sean became a Senior Governor for Safeguarding, Teaching & Learning and Performance, working alongside teachers to improve their classroom practice. Over time, Sean became interested in whole-school leadership and completed the six months ‘Head Teacher Training Programme’ accredited by the UK Department of Education and Chartered College of Teaching. Before joining DCB in 2018, Sean was Deputy Head of the West Norfolk Academies Trust in East Anglia and was Designated Safeguarding Lead and Trainer. Sean is currently completing his Master of Science in Child Mental Health and Psychological Practice through The University of Edinburgh.
