Shauna McFaul
Head of Primary Music
Ms. Shauna McFaul is a passionate music educator who is excited to be a part of the vibrant learning of Dulwich College Beijing as the Head of Primary Music. Originally from a small town in Wisconsin in the northern United States, Shauna became passionate about music from a young age through playing trombone in her school music ensembles. In 2013, Shauna graduated from Lawrence University in Wisconsin with a Bachelor of Music in Trombone Performance and Instrumental Music Education, and a Bachelor of Arts in Spanish. After graduation, Shauna began her international teaching career at Escuela Bella Vista in the vibrant country of Venezuela, where she taught general music and band to students from Early Years through Secondary School. After three years in Venezuela, Shauna embraced a new challenge in Singapore at Stamford American International School. During this time, she developed the Concert and Jazz Bands at the school and guided her Grade 5 students to prepare their inspiring choral and instrumental performances for school events. Shauna’s teaching experiences include a little bit of everything, but her favourite part of teaching is always connecting with her students, their families, and other teachers. When she isn’t teaching or playing music, she enjoys trying new craft projects, cooking, and spending time with her two rescue cats.
