DCB Alumni Reunion in Dulwich College
Last month, our Dulwich College Beijing alumni flew from all over the world to take part in a reunion event held at Dulwich College in London. Ms Klaudia Tomaszun, our Senior School Assistant Head (Enrichment) and one of our founding teachers here at DCB, shared more about the nostalgic gathering:
On Saturday, 13 January, we held an exceptional Alumni Reunion event at Dulwich College in London. In attendance were not only Mr Anthony Coles, our Head of College, and myself, but also distinguished guests, Dr Joe Spence, the Head of School, and Dr Cameron Pyke. This gathering provided a unique opportunity to reconnect with 60 of our esteemed former DCB students who have since embarked on diverse and impressive paths, including pursuing PHDs, working with the United Nations, and some have even become educators themselves. Their achievements truly embody our school's mission to 'Live Worldwise.'
As an educator, it is both a privilege and an honour to have played a part in their learning journey. This event served as a powerful reminder of the lasting legacy left behind by these young adults at DCB. Many of the events, programs, and activities that enrich the experiences of our current students are a direct result of the contributions made by these alumni during their time at our school. From Pink Week to Debate and DIMUN, their determination, motivation, and passion continue to resonate within our school community.
One particularly touching aspect of the reunion was the sense of community and belonging among our alumni. From those who graduated in 2012 to our most recent graduates, they all shared a common bond rooted in their experiences at DCB. It was heartwarming to hear them affectionately refer to DCB as 'my school' and witness the genuine camaraderie that still exists among them.
Looking ahead, we see this reunion as a catalyst for future endeavours. We are committed to strengthening the bonds between students, staff, and alumni. With a wealth of resources among our alumni, we envision opportunities for collaboration that will contribute to the growth and development of DCB. Whether through curriculum enhancement, visits, or networking, our alumni have expressed a willingness to share their experiences to help broaden the horizons of our current students. We are also excited about the prospect of alumni connecting with each other through the Worldwise Alumni Network (WAN) to share professional experiences and resources.
We would like to express our sincere gratitude to Dulwich College for hosting the event. The opportunity to hold the reunion at our founding school was truly incredible, and it added a special dimension to the overall experience.
We feel truly grateful and honoured to have been part of an event that vividly illustrated the enduring power of our community. We look forward to the continued collaboration and shared successes that will undoubtedly arise from these strengthened connections.
At Dulwich College International, we aim to foster lifelong relationships with our alumni, also known as International Old Alleynians (IOAs). The Worldwise Alumni Network (WAN) is a powerful professional and social community for IOAs to forge and maintain lasting bonds and a powerful professional and social platform for alumni and current students to be Together, Anywhere.
