Steve Skidmore, British bestselling children’s author of over 230 books, spoke and workshopped with DCB Junior School and Key Stage 3 students last week. Skidmore’s hilarious performances had students, teachers and parents totally captivated. A former educator, Skidmore’s message on the importance of reading for pleasure was very well received. Through actively involving his audience, the students learned about creativity in the storytelling process.
Year 7 student, Lily B, aptly captured his presentation:
“The author visit was so memorable and we all thoroughly enjoyed it. He made it interactive and fun but still ensured that we learned a lot during his talk. By making us volunteer to be all sorts of crazy characters like astronauts and dogs, we got much out of his interactions. Thank you so much for visiting Dulwich, and we definitely won't forget your amazing talk.
