Peter Rao
Deputy Head of DUCKS
Peter Rao has a BA (Hons) in English, a Masters in Educational Leadership and Management, and a Primary PGCE from the University of Warwick. Before becoming a teacher, Mr Rao spent his summers volunteering in summer camps in the UK, teaching English as a second language in Hungary and looking after children with social and emotional needs as a Residential Care Worker. These experiences taught him how to quickly build positive relationships with children and to be adaptable. He then taught students in British schools for 11 years, and as part of the Senior Leadership Team, led colleagues and improved standards across all three phases of Primary education. He also developed an academically rigorous International Primary Curriculum filled with stimulating learning experiences. In 2017, Mr Rao moved to Vietnam with his wife Laura to join an international school in Hanoi as the Deputy Head where he taught for seven years before moving to Beijing.
