Building for the Future: DCB’s Exciting Renovation Projects

AMC
Dulwich College Beijing

While students and our academic teams enjoy a well-deserved summer break, our Operations Team is hard at work—transforming DCB’s learning spaces to inspire curiosity, creativity, and connection. These upgrades reflect DCB’s belief in the power of environment to support learning excellence, wellbeing, and holistic development.

Here are some of the highlights:

Reimagined Reception Classrooms & Expanded Playgrounds

Designed to spark curiosity and exploration in our youngest learners, these new spaces embody DUCKS’ philosophy that the environment is the “third teacher.” The natural, engaging settings will foster play-based inquiry and essential early learning skills, such as independence, creativity, and collaboration.

These renovations are more than just physical upgrades—they are a reflection of our unwavering commitment to student success. Every space has been designed with intention, using calming natural colours, child-centred layouts, and imported eco-friendly materials that meet the highest international and national health and safety standards.

DCB has a proud and long-standing tradition of investing in both its people and its learning environments. Over the past several summers, we have reimagined and upgraded key areas of our campus to meet evolving educational needs. These enhancements include:

  • new DUCKS and Junior School playgrounds, purposefully designed to support play-based learning and inquiry;
  • The Hive, a modern community hub where Senior School students and teachers gather to collaborate and lead initiatives;
  • redesigned canteens in both Junior and Senior School, offering welcoming, flexible spaces that promote healthy choices and social connection; and
  • Legends Café, a dedicated space for IB students to study, reflect, and engage in meaningful dialogue, and for parents to attend Parent Academy sessions.

From DUCKS to university admissions, we strive to provide a consistent journey of excellence. Each stage of learning builds upon the last, and our environments are carefully curated to grow with our students—nurturing confident, capable, and compassionate global citizens.

We look forward to welcoming the community back to these inspiring new spaces at the start of the academic year! New families are warmly invited to schedule a tour and experience the DCB Difference for themselves.
